Travel Service company is certified as an airline for regular, charter and commercial transport of passengers and cargo in accordance with the regulations of the European Union. This certificate also applies to its brand for regular lines Smartwings. Travel Service has also met the demanding requirements of the FAA - Federal Aviation Administration of the USA and obtained a permission to carry out commercial air transport to and from the USA.
Travel Service and its brand for regular lines Smartwings employs only experienced and perfectly trained pilots. Training and testing of pilots takes place in accordance with strict rules of the European Union at training centers with modern appliances for training pilots – complex flight simulators, not only in the Czech Republic but also in other countries within the European Union. Based on this focused training, the pilots from the company Travel Service and SmartWings obtained the license to operate flights in Europe, Africa, North and South America, to Middle East and to the countries of Southeast Asia. All the pilots who commonly fly for Travel Service have to undergo a repeat training on flight simulators every six months and testing of professional skills, where they have to regain their flight qualification, every year.
Cabin crew carefully attends to your safety and comfort during the flight. They are also trained and tested in accordance to standards of the European Union. These standards are mainly focused on safety of the passengers. Travel Service and SmartWings put the quality of services provided to the passengers as their next priority. Therefore a substantial part of the aircrew training is aimed on professional manners when attending and communicating with passengers. Safety and regularity of modern air transport to a certain extent depends on good quality background on the land. The ground crew of Travel Service ensures smooth operation of the whole system 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Air traffic and the operation of all ground elements are coordinated by Flight Dispatching, which constantly monitors the movement of all flying airplanes and flight preparation of the airplanes still on the ground and coordinates the operation of all participating elements. Flight dispatchers, airport coordinators, navigators, crew planners, drivers of passenger and catering cars, technicians and mechanics work on shifts so that flight operations can take place safely and exactly according to the flight schedule.
In November 2016 Travel Service successfully underwent a strict safety audit of the International Air Transport Association IATA (International Air Transport Association). The IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) assesses an airline’s safety and quality of operations. Airlines involved in the programme must demonstrate compliance with strict international operational safety and quality standards.
